(Shoes Piled Up Outside Afri-Pads Factory)
I met up with Carrie-Jane who is the founder of Afri-Pads last week. She lived for a chunk of time in rural Uganda. And her legacy is quite amazing. It is also very simple. Afri-Pads is a local, small factory that makes washable, reusable cloth menstrual pads. It rents a small factory space from the local secondary school. It...

Getting the Kingdom →
1000tys:
An Ottawa evangelical church will be manning the pumps at a local Pioneer gas station next weekend, with plans to give away $10,000 worth of free fuel.
I’m thankful for those times when we get what the kingdom is about. Sure, a lot of the people coming through for free gas won’t be the poorest of the poor, and some of those receiving grace may complain that those with...

queueing is the best

j-pal:
I’m getting too attached to this idea of queueing things thanks to tumblr. I keep wanting to queue emails to send to people at a later time, or queue a meal to be cooked, or queue my clothes to automatically change when it gets close to bedtime. Come on RL, try to keep up!
I was just thinking about this today, jpal!
I was just thinking about this everyday since I...

Grebel in hot water after student project →
mapoftheworld:
Jonathan Van Egmond, one of the founders of the group, found the whole process invaluable. “When Solar Grebel first formed, we had no idea where to even start. In completing this project, all the students involved learned what it takes to organize a building and energy project, from beginning to end.”

Trip to Europe
I’m taking a 2-3 day trip to somewhere in Europe. Where should I go? Some options right now are Ireland, Munich, Frankfurt, maybe even Morocco. Any suggestions???
Sure I like the bass down low.
But where else would it be?… Isn’t ‘low’ kinda the definition of ‘bass’. If you say “I like my bass up high”, you’re really just saying you don’t like bass.
